How long will it take to see results?
Though some patients may notice a lifting effect immediately after treatment, HIFU stimulates the production of collagen, so full results will not be evident until time has been taken for collagen resources to build in the skin. This can take three to six months, during which the skin is lifted gradually.
Is the treatment painful?
On the whole, this treatment is minimally painful and well-tolerated. A topical numbing cream may be applied before treatment to minimise discomfort during the injections. Additionally, most fillers contain a local anaesthetic, lidocaine, which further reduces any potential discomfort.
How long do results last?
HIFU can last over a year, depending on individual patients. Regular touch-up treatments will help keep the skin producing new collagen and extend the longevity of results.
What can I expect from the treatment?
HIFU treatment tends to last between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on areas treated. Patients may experience a slight redness afterwards, though this should subside within a few hours. Some patients may experience swelling, tingling, or tenderness, though this is short-lived. Any potential side effects will be explained to you in depth at your consultation.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime, and everyday activities may be resumed immediately. Unlike lasers, you can have this procedure with a tan or go into the sun immediately afterwards.

This was my first time ever getting any cosmetic procedure done, and I’m so glad I chose to have this experience done at define with Rosie. Going into my appointment, I was feeling a little apprehensive as to how my results were going to turn out. I just wanted something to help get rid of a few lines on my forehead without anyone noticing that I had anything done. Rosie took all of my points into consideration and she exceeded my expectations. Not only did she try to calm my nerves by bringing me water and making sure my experience was enjoyable, she also made sure that I was completely comfortable with everything she was doing and she made sure that I had all the knowledge I needed before I continued with the procedure.
One thing I will say about define, it’s a little on the pricier side however, it is worth every penny. You are paying for quality and good results!
